Privacy & Cookies

Last updated: 4 September 2026

The short version

This site sets no tracking cookies. Our visitor statistics run on our own server inside the European Union, without cookies, with IP addresses anonymised. We ask for personal data in exactly two places — the contact form and the comment box — and below we say plainly what happens to it.

Who is responsible

The controller of personal data collected through www.nerovenere.com is:

Supero Ltd
1, Triq It-Tramuntana, NDR 1222
In-Nadur (Għawdex), Malta
VAT MT 2105-2906

For anything concerning your personal data — access, correction, deletion, or a complaint — write to privacy@nerovenere.com.

Visiting the site

Our web server records ordinary technical information about each request: IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser and operating system. Every web server does this, and we use it only to keep the site running and secure. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in the security and stability of the service, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. These logs are kept for 24 months and then deleted.

Statistics

We use Matomo to understand which pages are read. Our installation differs from the usual arrangement in three respects, and they matter:

  • it runs on our own server, inside the European Union — no analytics company receives your data;
  • it sets no cookies;
  • it anonymises IP addresses before storing them.

What we get is aggregate readership figures that cannot be traced back to you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in knowing what people read, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

The contact form

When you write to us from the contact page we receive the name, the email address and the message you provide, and we keep them in order to answer you and to have a record of the exchange. Legal basis: your consent, given by ticking the box on the form, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. We keep these messages for 24 months and then delete them.

The form is protected against automated abuse by Cloudflare Turnstile. To perform that check, Cloudflare, Inc. (United States) receives technical information about your browser and your IP address. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in preventing abuse of the form, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Comments

If you leave a comment we receive the name and email address you type, the comment itself, your IP address and your browser’s user agent. Legal basis: your consent, given by submitting the comment, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Published comments stay online with the article unless you ask us to remove them.

Comments are checked for spam by Akismet, a service of Automattic Inc. (United States), which receives the data above in order to make that assessment. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in preventing spam, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Comment forms may also display an avatar from Gravatar, also operated by Automattic Inc.; to fetch it, a hashed form of your email address is sent to that service.

If you tick “save my name and email for the next time I comment”, your browser stores that information locally, on your own device, for your convenience. You can clear it at any time from your browser settings.

Transfers outside the European Union

Cloudflare and Automattic are established in the United States. Those transfers rely on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses and on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Apart from these two services, no personal data collected through this site leaves the European Union.

Writing to us by email

Messages sent to press@nerovenere.com or privacy@nerovenere.com arrive in mailboxes hosted on our own servers in the European Union. We keep correspondence for as long as it is useful to the matter it concerns.

Cookies and similar storage

This site sets no cookies for analytics, advertising or profiling. It carries no advertising, no social plugins and no embedded third-party content.

The only storage that may occur is:

  • what Cloudflare Turnstile needs in order to verify that the contact form is not being submitted by a robot — on the contact page only;
  • the comment details your own browser saves, if you ask it to, as described above.

Both fall within the “strictly necessary” exemption, and neither is used to follow you anywhere.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its processing, or receive it in a portable format. Where processing rests on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time; withdrawing it does not affect what was lawful beforehand.

Write to privacy@nerovenere.com. We answer within one month.

If you believe we have handled your data improperly, you may complain to the Maltese supervisory authority, the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (idpc.org.mt).

Changes to this notice

We update this page whenever what we do with data changes, and we change the date at the top when we do.
